Neil’s events at Sydney Writers’ Festival announced

Neil will appear at the Sydney Writers’ Festival in May, speaking about both his crimewriting and his television work. Neil will take part in five events during the festival week. They are:

Not Everyone’s a Cop (Event 26)
You think crime fiction, you think cops or at least PIs. Right? Wrong. Lenny Bartulin’s crime solver is a second-hand bookseller, Michael Robotham’s heroes range from clinical psychiatrists to safe-crackers, while Neil Cross’s many characters include the engaging team from the TV series ‘Spooks’. They talk about their heroes and why they have them do what they do.

Neil Cross, writer of thrillers such as ‘Burial’ and ‘Captured’ and lead screenwriter for the television series ‘Spooks’ says he has the perfect life: writing and watching TV. “It’s the life I dreamed of, with less sleep,” he says. He talks about this and other inspirations.

Neil Cross: Captured (Suburban & Regional Event SR16)
Described by the ‘Guardian’ as “Britain’s own Stephen King”, Neil Cross has written a number of bestselling novels including ‘Always the Sun’, ‘Burial’ and ‘Captured’, and was a lead scriptwriter for the acclaimed BBC spy drama ‘Spooks’. He speaks about his writing for the page and screen with Therese Scott. Presented with Ashfield Library.

Crime Scene (Event 115)
With these accomplished writers, the scene of the crime is as real as the characters. Lenny Bartulin’s Sydney reaches from art galleries in Woollhara to nasty little garages in Botany, while the location for Neil Cross’s television drama ‘Spooks’ is London in all its ancient and modern glory.
